Event: Party in the Park

Every fall, my neighborhood hosts a party in our central park for the kids. There are a few rides and bouncy house type things, etc... Mostly it is just a social gathering for everyone to come out and see each other before it gets cold. One of the main events is the cake walk. I contributed vanilla bean cupcakes with strawberry buttercream. Other notable cakes were Ms. Jacob's puppy shaped cake and various Pinterest-esque cakes with cascading candies. Ultimately, Ms. Jacob, a local pastry chef, and her family ended up with my cupcakes. I got great reviews! I'm going to start planning a bake sale with National Honor Society, so stay tuned.
